Eligibility and structure check
We confirm whether you actually need to register, and under which scheme — regular or composition — before anything is filed.
GST registration is mandatory once your annual turnover crosses the threshold for your state and supply type, and immediately — at any turnover — if you supply goods inter-state, sell through an e-commerce platform, or fall into certain notified categories. Makhija & Company handles the registration, the monthly or quarterly returns that follow it, and any notices the department raises.
| Who must register | Businesses over the turnover threshold, all inter-state suppliers, e-commerce sellers, casual taxable persons, and anyone liable under reverse charge |
|---|---|
| Main returns | GSTR-1 (outward supplies), GSTR-3B (summary and payment), GSTR-9 (annual) |
| Filing frequency | Monthly, or quarterly under the QRMP scheme if you qualify |
| Core documents | PAN, Aadhaar, photograph, proof of business constitution, address proof, bank details |
| Typical timeline | Days rather than weeks once documents are complete and correct |
| What we charge | Quoted per service before work starts; first consultation free |
Goods and Services Tax is a single indirect tax on the supply of goods and services, collected at each stage of the supply chain with credit for tax already paid on inputs. For a business, GST is less a one-off registration than an ongoing filing rhythm: you charge it, you claim credit on what you buy, and you reconcile the difference every month or quarter.
Most of the cost of getting GST wrong is not the tax — it is lost input credit, late fees that accumulate quietly, and notices that arrive months after the mistake. That is the part we are actually managing for you.
If one of these sounds like you, this is the right page.
This is the general set. After the first call you get one checklist built for your exact case, rather than a generic list you have to interpret.
That is what the free consultation is for. Tell us the situation and we will tell you the shortest route through it — including when the answer is that you do not need this service at all.

Our office is on the second floor of Ghantakarna Mall, a few minutes from Ghantakarna Market. Most of the GST files we handle belong to businesses working within a few kilometres of it — retailers and traders around Sarangpur, Kalupur, Relief Road and Bapunagar. That matters more than it sounds: when a return is due and one purchase invoice is missing, walking it over is faster than three phone calls, and we can look at the actual bill rather than a photograph of it.
229, 2nd Floor, Ghantakarna Mall, SarangpurYou always know which step you are on and what we need from you next.
We confirm whether you actually need to register, and under which scheme — regular or composition — before anything is filed.
You get a single list built for your constitution type, not a generic one, so the application goes in complete.
We file on the GST portal and answer any clarification the officer raises, which is where most delays happen.
Once registered, we file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B on schedule and reconcile 2A/2B against your books so credit is not lost.
QDo I need GST registration for my business?
Registration becomes compulsory once your annual turnover crosses the threshold set for your state and supply type. It is also mandatory regardless of turnover if you supply goods inter-state, sell through an e-commerce operator, act as a casual taxable person, or are liable to pay tax under reverse charge. Many businesses below the threshold also register voluntarily so they can claim input credit and bill registered clients.
QHow long does GST registration take?
GST registration usually takes days rather than weeks once the documents are complete and correct. Delays almost always come from mismatched address proof, an unclear rent agreement, or an incomplete application that triggers a clarification notice.
QWhat is the difference between GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B?
GSTR-1 reports your outward supplies — the invoices you issued. GSTR-3B is a summary return where you declare your liability, claim input credit and actually pay the tax. Both are required; filing one does not cover the other.
QWhat happens if I file GST returns late?
Late fees accrue per day per return and interest applies on unpaid tax. Persistent non-filing can also block your e-way bill generation and eventually lead to cancellation of registration. It is far cheaper to file a nil return on time than to catch up later.
QCan you handle a GST notice I have already received?
Yes. Bring the notice and your last filed returns. We will tell you what it actually asks for, what the realistic exposure is, and draft the reply — rather than you finding out at the hearing.
QShould I opt for the composition scheme?
The composition scheme lowers your compliance load and tax rate but blocks input credit and restricts inter-state supply. It suits some small traders and not others. We work it out against your actual purchase and customer mix rather than applying a rule of thumb.
