Eligibility check
We look at your activity, vintage, banking and filings, and tell you honestly whether Mudra is the right route or whether another scheme fits better.
A Mudra loan is credit for small non-farm income-generating enterprises under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, offered through banks, NBFCs and microfinance institutions in tiers named Shishu, Kishor and Tarun according to the size of the requirement. MUDRA appoints no agents and no middlemen — you apply to a lender yourself. What Makhija & Company does is check whether you qualify and prepare the file you take to them.
| Scheme | Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) |
|---|---|
| Tiers | Shishu, Kishor and Tarun, by size of requirement |
| Who it is for | Non-farm micro enterprises in manufacturing, trading and services |
| Where you apply | Banks, NBFCs and microfinance institutions — not to MUDRA directly |
| Agents | MUDRA appoints none. Anyone claiming to be a MUDRA agent is not one — we are consultants who prepare your file, not intermediaries |
| Current ceilings | Revised by the government from time to time; we confirm the limits applying to your case |
| What we prepare | Eligibility assessment, project report, CMA where required, and the full document set |
Mudra exists because a profitable small business with no property to pledge could not previously borrow from a bank on reasonable terms. It is not a grant and it is not automatic — you are still being assessed as a borrower, and the assessment is done on the file you submit.
That is the part most applicants underestimate. The business is usually fine. The application is what fails: an incomplete document set, a project report the credit officer does not believe, or figures that contradict the applicant's own filed returns.
If one of these sounds like you, this is the right page.
This is the general set. After the first call you get one checklist built for your exact case, rather than a generic list you have to interpret.
That is what the free consultation is for. Tell us the situation and we will tell you the shortest route through it — including when the answer is that you do not need this service at all.

The businesses this fits best in our area are the small ones — a shop needing working capital, a repair or tailoring unit, a food stall, a small manufacturer buying one machine. If you are near Ghantakarna Market and unsure whether your requirement is Mudra-sized at all, that is a five-minute conversation, not a paid engagement.

A realistic project report and, where the lender asks for it, a CMA report built from your actual filed figures.
One checklist, assembled in full, so the application is not returned for a missing paper.
The file goes to the appropriate lender and we track it, answering queries until a decision is issued.
Getting sanctioned is rarely about the business — it is about how the file is built. Here is what actually goes into one, layer by layer.
QWhat is a Mudra loan?
It is a loan for small non-farm income-generating enterprises under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana. You do not borrow from MUDRA itself — you apply to a bank, NBFC or microfinance institution, which lends under the scheme. It is structured in three tiers, Shishu, Kishor and Tarun, according to how much you need.
QHow much can I borrow under Mudra?
Mudra’s ceilings are set by government and have been revised more than once, so quoting a figure that later goes stale would be misleading. Tell us what you need the money for and we will confirm the limits that currently apply to your tier and activity.
QIs collateral required for a Mudra loan?
The scheme is designed for lending without collateral security. What the lender is assessing instead is the viability of the activity and your ability to repay, which is exactly why the project report and your filed returns carry so much weight.
QHow long does a Mudra loan take?
A Mudra loan runs on the lender's timeline, not ours, and it varies by branch and by how complete your file is on arrival. What we control is the file — assembled correctly the first time, which is where most delays originate. We will give you a realistic expectation for your case at the consultation.
QAre you a Mudra agent?
No, and neither is anyone else — MUDRA does not appoint agents, facilitators or middlemen, and it publicly advises borrowers to stay away from anyone claiming to be one. Nobody can 'get you' a Mudra loan for a fee. What a consultant can legitimately do is assess whether you qualify, prepare your project report and CMA, and assemble the documentation you then submit to a bank. That is what we do, and we charge for that work, not for access.
QCan I get a Mudra loan for a new business?
Yes, new units are eligible, but with no trading history the project report and your own profile carry the whole case. That makes the quality of the application more important for a new business, not less.
